Q.

Effects of feotal distress

Just want to know if a baby born at preterm due to feotal distress can have any effects in the development? My baby was born at 34 weeks, I had preterm labour and she went into distress and I had an emergency Csection. Just want to know if her being in distress at birth can have any effects on her development or growth? Will this affect her in future?

This is a difficult question to answer as it all depends on the degree or level of foetal distress and the length of time your baby experienced foetal distress. Also whether there was any interruption in the supply of blood carrying oxygen to your baby's brain. If your baby was closely monitored and the C-section was done as soon as it became necessary then all should be well.
