Eczema &  allergies

My son is 4 years old and has eczema. He had it when he was born and it only flared up again last week. I took him to my GP who told me that I should use Epizone cream on him, which I' ve been doing. I' m just not seeing any difference yet.

I do know that eczema can be hereditary sometimes - I also have it, mostly in winter

The reason I' m writing is that I' m a bit concerned that our GP isn' t really getting to the root of the problem. My son ALWAYS has a runny nose in winter (like water), even though he' s not sick and I thought that maybe he has some allergies, hence the runny nose and eczema

What is your opinon on this? Should I rather have him tested for allergies or do I accept that he inherited it from me?

You are completely correct. Your son is alsmost certainly an allergic little boy. He should be seen and tested by a paediatrician with an interest in paediatric allergy.

I would have him tested for allergies.
In that way you know what is causing it and how to avoid it if possible.
