Q.

Eczema

My 12 month old daughter has horrible eczema on her face and body, she also has some sort of rash on her head. She''s currently on Isomil 3 and I bath her with Epizone E and use Epizone A as the moisturiser. I also apply Dilucort (when she has an outbreak) previously I used mylocort . Now these seem not to be working. What must I use? What could be the cause of this now? I also give her Aterax to relieve the itch which helps. She doesn''t take anything with dairy

Your daughter's rash does not sound like the usual form of allergic eczema that babies of her age may have. It sounds more like a form of eczema that is known as 'seborrhoeic eczema' whch is troublesome at first but usually clears up by the age of about 2 years. Concentrate on getting her scalp clear. Wash her hair with Elizabeth Anne baby shampoo and apply a very small amount of olive oil to her scalp at night. Gently comb off the scales that form using a fine comb. Apply Epimax Junior to her face and body after bathing her. Use Epizone E instead of soap.
