Q.

Eczema

Hi Doctor,

My little boy ( 9 months old) has eczema, his skin is getting dry/fllaking and itching on his joints. e.g. around his neck, knees, elbows and chicks. i' ve taken him to three doctors but he is not getting fine. The 2 Dr said i must use Fragrance free aqueous cream to bath and moisture. The last one said i must use nivea cream, i just want to find out if it is curable and if he is allergic to any milk. He is using NAN 2 and what maybe can be right for his skin

Your baby's rash does sound like eczema. You need to have him seen and tested by a paediatric allergist. There are experts in all the main centres in SA.In the meantime keep his skin well moisturised by using Epimax especially after bathing him Do not use soaps on his skin. You must not use Nivea cream on his rash.
