Hi Dr,
I have the opposite of most moms here wrt eating. She weighed 11.5 in March when she was about 15 months and the paed said it was fine and since then she has become slimmer and taller as she is now 19 months and running around...but she eats breakfast nicely, lunch, and snacks on a very varied snack box at 14:00 and then when i pick her up from creche in the evening she is hungry. Igive her sliced banana/ sweet melon or whatever fruit i have while she is waiting for me to make her supper, then she eats her supper - a reallyl big portion for a 19 month old PLUS after finishing she runs to her snack cuboard and takes out a cookie and eats that...and if anyone else is eating anything that looks nice she will nibble on that too...then she might even want a couple of flings this normal? Couldnt she have worms? There is nothing in her stools tho...

Your little daughter's weight in March was on the 98th percentile, the top 2% for little girl's of her age. So she was certainly overweight then. Her appetite is just too good and she is certainly overeating. She needs to eat food that will make her feel full and not allow her to eat and snack so often. As this is a habit pattern that may become well established and persistent she should be seen by a dietician and followed up regularly by the dietician.
