Q.

Eating

Hi Doc

my baby is 17 weeks on nan1, a little girl. She weighs 6kg and is 60cms. I make her 5 150ml bottles a day. Of which she finishes only 2 on a good day, the rest she will leave 50-70 mls. She should be drinking much more, how do I increase her appetite?

You cannot increase your baby's appetite as such. Her weight is only slightly below the average weight for a baby girl of 6 weeks so there does not appear to be a problem with her weight at present. She should be drinking about 800ml of milk per day now but seems to be taking about 600ml per day. You do not mention which formula she is on but perhaps she is just feeling full and content after drinking about 100ml from some bottles.
