Ears draining with fould smell

Hi Dr,
My 14 month old got grommets when he was 8 months old (what a blessing) because of multiple ear infections. For the last 2.5 months he''''s been battling with sinus, allergies and common cold symptoms. Phlemghy cough, runny nose, corners of eyes red and oozing and drainage from the ears. The stuff coming out from his ears are brownish and smells foul. I have been using Exocin, but with it being prescription and running out, I was hoping there is an OTC drop I can use to assist with the draining fluids. We have been to our doctor every second week because of this persistent "  cold"  symptoms, but they cannot give him any more antibiotics and say that this winter has just been extra tough. He uses Telfast and nasonex on a daily basis and one week on, one week off he''''s on bisolvin linctus and celestamine mix. Can you please suggest something for the ear drainage? Many thanks

I am afraid that the fluid draining from your son's ear is definitely heavily infected. He needs to be seen again by the ENT surgeon who inserted the grommets when he was 8 months old. There is no simple remedy that is safe to use in these circumstances.
