Earpain / Persistent Cough

Dear Doc,

I have a 7 Month old baby boy. We saw his pediatritican about a cold about 3 weeks ago. He completed his course of antibiotics and was given Illiadin nosedrops.

My concerns are : his cough is still persisting. And secondly I notice quite a lot of earwax in both his ears. His pediatritian noticed a little bit of fluid in his ears but said that the nosedrops would also help for his ears. Other than that he is not sleeping well at night he is happy and doesnt seem to be in pain. Every now and then he does " tug"  on his ears though.

Do I need to take him back to his doctor?

Do not use the usual Iliadin nose drops continuously for 3 weeks unless they are the Saline nose drop form of Iliadin. Check this carefully. You do need to take your baby back to the doctor as he is still coughing and his ears seem to be troubling him
