Ear Wax

My daughter is 6 and noticed a huge ball of wax blocked in her ear, I tried cleaning it as best I could but landed up pushing it back.

She did complain that she can''t hear so nicely out of that ear. What can I use " home products"  to soften and get this wax out the ear.

You can use olive oil to soften this wax. Use 3 or 4 drops of the olive oil in your daughter's ear with the hard wax. It helps if the oil is slightly warm but make sure that it is not hot!

There are over the counter meds you can buy to help with this, go to your chemist and ask the pharmacist. I can''t remember the names of the ear drops though, but it softens the wax and lets it all run out. I haven''t tried any of these on me or my kids, but have heard other parents saying that they work.

Otherwise, let her lie back in a warm bath with her ears submerged and then gently clean out with a face cloth (though personally I don''t find that works at all).
