Ear Infection

Hi Doc

My baby of 11 months has recently had a very mild ear infection, which we treated with a course of Augmentin.

The antibiotics are now finished, but she is still " bashing"  the side of her head, or sometimes she just holds the side of her head in her hand (as if she is resting her head in her hand)

She seems fine otherwise, apart from a bit of a snotty nose, but no temp.

Should I take her back to the doctor, or do you thing, the head bashing has now become a habit?

It is very important to be sure that your baby does not still have an ear infection present. You must take her back to the doctor so that she can have her ears checked.

Topaz, the infecion might be gone but the fluid still there, which make her feel like there is something stuck in her ear - hence the bashing. Take her back to be safe.
