Duolin or Pulmicort or both

Good evening doctor

My son (20 months) was hospitalised from 9-17 April for bronchitis and severe tonsilitis. His tonsils were removed on 19 April due to 6 infections the past 3 months.

His lungs went into a broncho-spasm during the operation apparently because of the bronchitis the previous week, but apart from this he basically started eating immediately. So far no fever and very little pain. I personally think he is doing great for a little man of his age. Is there anything we can expect to change in the next week?

What I want to know - he still has a wet cough now and then. Must I nebulise him with Duolin or Pulmicort or a mixture of both? They nebulised him in hospital as well after the T &  A. His nose is blocked from time to time, but we were told to use Iliaden for 5 days, which works very well for now.

He is also on Ferrimed at the moment due to an iron deficiency. His count was 3 instead of the normal 10. Apart from the tonsils that gave so much trouble, this was also the reason why his immune system is so low and why he was always sick. For how long must he use this medication?

Thank you so much for your time and advice doctor. I really do appreciate and rely on your help.

Thank you for your detailed question. I am pleased that your son is over the operation. He will do well if you nebulise him with Duolin twice a day until he is better. He does not need the Pulmicort as well.He is really severely iron deficient and you should repeat his haemoglobin and iron levels after 3 months to be sure that he is responding to the Ferrimed.

I have been given Duolin and Pulmicort by my doctor to use. I have bronchitis must I use both (mixing them) or is just one of them enough. I know how to use pulmicort for my 9 year old son but wasn't sure how to use for an adult. Thanks

Sorry doctor, I also want to know should my son get another MMR vaccine is he has already had it at 15 months? And the polio drops? He is up to date with all his vaccines.

My son is currently on the Chocci VItes to boost his immune system. Is this sufficient enough for him with this iron deficiency background? I have tried Creche Guard but he refuses to drink it and if he drinks it indeed, he wont eat for days on end.

Thank you once again.
