Dr when do you think a toddler should give up her dummy? My daughter LOVES her dummy and is very serious about it. She doesnt have it all day at creche except her teacher gives it to her with her blankie when she has her afternoon nap. Then she doesnt get it again until I fetch her.

You do not give your daughter's age, but you would not want her to be sucking on a dummy beyond 18 months. The best trick is to cut a small piece off the soft part each day until it is so short that she will not want to suck on it any more.

Hi how old is she? I wouldn''t worry too much about it. Some children is born with a very strong sucking reflex and they will give it up themselves when they are ready. - buy the cd on " dummies"  etc: It was very helpfull to me.
