Q.

Dry Skin

My 11 month old baby has skin problem. We took her to a paediatrician and he suggested that she has excema. He prescribed emalcifying ointment to wash her wish, E45, another cream ( I forgot the name) to apply only on the affected areas. The excema is only on the lower body. We bought another body wash Ulcerea which was recommended by my cousin but nothing seems to work. What could it be?

This does not sound like eczema.I cannot be sure about the diagnosis of your baby's rash without being able to see him.It may be a skin condition called 'ichthyosis' where the skin on the legs and lower body is very dry. This is an inherited condtion. Please take your baby to be seeen by a dermatologist.
