Dry patches on baby`s skin

Hi Paed-hope u are well.My baby is 6 months old and for the past week been suffering from dry skin.It seems to be dry patches spreading from her shoulders over her chest right down to her belly. Also a few spots around the ankles and lower back. She scratches her chest mostly at night due to the heat.I have been applying plain aqueous cream but it`s not working. The clinic on Friday diagnosed it as mild eczema and just gave me emulsifying ointment to apply but it doesn`t seem to be working.

What are these dry patches and is there anything I can use to treat this. Thanks

It is difficult for me to be sure about your baby's rash without being able to see her. The rash does sound like a form of eczema. Apply Epimax cream after bathing her. Keep her as cool as possible in this warm weather. She must only wear cotton clothing.

also stop using any baby products like johnsons etc. we had the exact same with our daughter and she was diagnosed with atopic dermatitus. we now only use bennetts soap bar and bennets aqeous bath drops and within 3x days the dry/itchy patches had dissapeared. maybe your daughter' s skin is just too sensitive.
