Dropping the morning nap

Dear Prof

At what age does a baby drop the morning nap? Our girl is 10 1/2 months and she is sleeping around 11 hours (or more) at night. She then takes a morning nap of between 1 1/2 - 2 hours and the same in the afternoon. Yesterday her afternoon nap was only 40 minutes. This morning I could not get her to take her morning nap. She kept crying when I tried to make her sleep until I left it, she''s fine, plays like ususal and is not cranky. Is this an indication of her being ready to drop this nap or do I keep on trying for the next couple of days still in the morning? We are expecting some teeth any day now but she eats, drinks, etc. good during the day, is very healthy and still sleeps through at night. Thank you

Some babies,it seems for some reason the clever ones, drop their morning sleep at about 10 months. Your baby is getting exactly the right amount of sleep for her age with her excellent night routine and the plus minus 2 hours in the afternoon. There is no need for concern.

Prof, she only slept for 1h30 minutes this afternoon and woke at 14:15. She normally eats at 17:15, bath at 18:45 and in bed for sleep at 19:30. How do I now change my schedule as she will not be able to last from 14:15 until 19:30!! Perhaps this was just a once-off thing due to exitement for having her parents at home during the day in the week??
