Q.

Drooling 4 year old

Hi Doc,

My 4 year old is still drooling....we try telling him to swallow his saliva but it hasnt helped much. We havent taken him to the Dr to figure out what is wrong yet because we dont know where should we start. Do we see a Paed or a Dentist or is it something that will go away on its own?

Thanks Doc

As you probably already know, it is very unusual for a child of 4 years to still be drooling. He may have a problem called tongue-tie among other possible causes. It would be best to take your son to see a speech therapist first about his drooling problem.
