Q.

Down Syndrome child

I have a 4.5 year old down syndrome boy who has now started to get a couple of grey hairs. He is asthmatic, also taking a low maintenance course of Eltroxin for thyroid which seems to be under control. He does not have a heart condition or any other " serious"  problem to my knowledge.

Is there a reason for the grey hair that I should be concerned about. His father only turned grey in late 30ties and I''m not grey yet (late thirties)

Thanks

It is not uncommon for some very young children to develop one or two grey hairs. However this is more common in children with Down's syndrome who tend to show signs of premature ageing relatively early in their lives.
