Double jointedness is not uncommon and it is usually does not cause any problems. In some children being double jointed causes the muscles of the arms and legs in particular to tire more rapidly especially around the knee joint, the arms and the back. It is important to build up muscle strength. Swimming is a very good exercise. It is best to see a physiotherapist as this kind of expert will recommend exercises which can then be done at home.

Could be growing pains. My 6 yr old also suffers from pains in her legs from time to time. Interested to see what the doc says.
