Q.

digestable or not?

good day doc,

my daughter spends alot of time outside we actually battle to keep her indoors and she is at the age where she wants to put EVERYTHING in her mouth and unfortnatley i am not always there or fast enough to catch every leaf or handful of grass or sand she puts in her mouth yet we never see any of this come out in her stool should i be worried or will the stomach digest this???

Your daughter's stomach will certainly not digest sand and grass.When children eat sand it is called 'pica' and often means that they are anaemic or short of iron. Please have her tested to make sure that she is not anaemic.
