Childhood Diseases

My son is 11 years old and he struggles to express himself i.e. he uses the wrong words and also mixes his sentences up. I have taken him for Speech Therapy, Reading Classes as well as Occupational Therapy. With factual subjects that he has to study he gets 90% and up, and he also does well in English. His AFrikaans is very bad although it is his mother language. In conflict situations he lies unintentionally (I think) as he cannot express what has happened and then he takes the easy way out by telling a quick lie. What else can I dol?

This is a difficult question as you have already seen several experts without any real improvement in your son's ability to express himself. He seems to have some form of dyslexia although he does well at content subjects which is unusual. I hate to add to your expense but it seems that the obvious need here is to get a diagnosis of your son's actual problem. I would recommend that he sees an educational psychologist.
