Difficult breathing

Please help. My 16 week old son has difficulty breathing. It sounds like his nostrils are not big enough to take in enough air.I have taken him to two different paeditricians and they both tell me its a developmental thing, he''ll grow out of it. But is it so bad that he struggles to fall asleep and when he''s sleeping on his tummy he''ll constantly turn his head from one side to the other. Is this normal? I don''t know what to do to help him.

This is definitely not normal. It is impossible for a baby to fall asleep if they have a blocked nose. Your baby's nose seems to be particularly badly blocked. It is possible that his nostrils are not completely open on the inside of his nose. This is condition known as "choanal atresia" I am not saying that this is definite but it is a possibility here. Your baby should be seen by an ENT specialist as soon as possible.
