Q.

Difference between Hypo-allergenic &  Lactose free

Dear Doc

Is it advisable to feed a newborn on a hypo allergenic formula or a lactose free formula rather?

I''m thinking between NAN HA or Isomil

thanks

There is no need to use these formulas unless there is a definite family history of allergies especially cow's milk allergy or a family history of lactose intolerance. The usual starter hypoallergenic milk is NAN HA. Lactose free formulas are available for babies with lactose intolerance.
