My 3 yr old constantly has diarrhoea, she has been to doctors who tell me she has a stomach bug and gives her medicine for 5 days, then it will start all over again, she complains of a sore tummy every time she eats, she wants to do number 2 every time during or after a meal, lately, her stool is covered with a mucus like membrane when she has a runny tummy.

I am really worried and don''t know who to go to now.

Although your daughter is 3 years old already she is showing the typical symptoms seen in younger children with 'toddlers diarrhoea' This is due to too much fruit or fruit juice in the diet. The actual cause is of her diarrhoea is an intolerance to the natural fruit sugar called fructose. Stops all fruit juice and also fruit in her diet. She must stay off fruit juice but you can give her apples or pears to eat after 3 to 4 days, but none of the summer fruits.
As a precaution it would be a good idea to deworm her as well using Vermox syrup 5ml twice daily for 3 days.
