Q.

Diarrhoea

Hi Professor,

My 3 year old has diarrhoea, this is the second day now. I have been giving him Koastatex. I am concerned that the food at his creche is not fresh. Is diarrhoea caused by something other than what he eats?

Thank you

You are possibly correct as diarrhoea at your son's age is usually caused by an infection. The most likely source of this infection is through food. It is very important that very careful attention is paid to providing fresh and hygienically prepared food to children at a creche.
