Q.

Diarrhea

Dear Prof

My 3 yrs old son started having diarrhea last week Monday ( 23 July) . For abt 2 days he was having cramps before each stool passing and I treated that with scopex. I was giving him rehidrat and smecta. On Sunday I took him to the Dr who prescribed Kantrexil. His appetite is improving but he still passes loose stools (less frequent). I stopped giving him all fruits, juices and dairy products.

Is Kantrexil the correct medicine for this?

Kantexil is a well recognised treatment for diarrhoea that is caused by a bacterial infection. It should help your son who already seems to be on the way to recovery.
