Q.

Diarhea

WELCOME BACK!

My 11 month old baby girl has diarhea which started yesterday afternoon and she feels comfortable when lying on her stomach. Could it be teething cos she has only four teeth at the moment or something else? She doesn' t show signs of teething Is there something she can take to stop the diarhea coz i' m afraid she will be weak and have no energy

Your baby's diarrhoea is not caused by teething. She appears to have a gastro infection. She does not appear to be vomiting which is a good sign.Babies with diarrhoea lose a lot of fluid and body salts (electrolytes) which must be replaced to prevent dehydration. So give her extra sips of Rehidrat solution after every diarrhoea stool. It is best to give as much as 200ml of the Rehidrat after every watery stool.
