If this is the first time your child has had diarrhoea then it is important to give frequent sips of an electrolyte solution such as Rehidrat. No medicines as such are usually necessary. Repeated episodes of diarrhoea in this age group is called 'toddler's diarrhoea'. The most frequest cause is too much fruit or fruit juice in the diet. There is a reaction to excessiv e amounts of the natural sugar present in fruit called fructose. Stop all fruit juice and stop giving any fruit except apples for at least 1 week and see if your child's diarrrhoea stops.
