my daughter has been on deselex for over a year now and flexotide as well - she takes two puffs twice a day of flexotide and one teaspoon every night of deselex - apparently flexotide is a steroid and should not be taken for too long - what do i do? do i take her for a check up or reduce her dosage on my own - the problem is the paed charges a lot just for 5 minutes consultation.

The question is why is your daughter on these medicines which are normally used to treat allergic rhinitis and asthma? Flixotide is a safe treatment for asthma. If your daughter is symptom-free and well and has been so for at least 6 months then you can stop the Deselex. Keep her on the Flixotide through the winter and stop this treatment once the weather is warm again.
