Hi Doc,
My 3yr old son complains of his bum being sore a lot. He''s not constipated, and has a blalanced diet. When he goes to the loo at home, I always wash him after a poo, but at school they just wipe. Could it be that he just doesn''t wipe himself properly?
However, this has also happened over the weekends when I''m with him full-time. This has been going on for a few months. Once I apply bum cream, he''s fine again. At one time I thought he was just being naughty, but this is getting a bit much now as he tries to scratch himself. I''m afraid he may make himself sore.
He was dewormed in Feb, can I deworm him now again and see it this works?
Many thanks!

It sounds as if your son has a pinworm infection. This infection can recur especially with children of this age who come in contact with other children. You can give him a single 5ml dose of Vermox Syrup. Repeat the same single dose after 6 weeks and then again after another 6 weeks.
