Daughter walking on toes

Hi Doctor,

My almost four-year-old constantly walks on her toes. Although we remind her to walk flat feet, it has now become so ingrained that I could just as well as her to stop breathing. We really need help but I''m not sure if she should see an orthopaedic surgeon or a podiatrist. I would appreciate your advice in this regard. Thank you very much.

This is a rather common problem but is as problem never the less.It is important to correct your daughter's toe walking soon. It would be best to consult a physiotherapist first who may want to refer you on to an orthopaedic surgeon, but your daughetr does need assessment by a physiotherapist first.

Did she use a walking ring as a baby?
