Daughter urinating very often

Hi Doctor,
My daughter is 5 years old. She urinates very often, sometimes even as much as 5-6 times an hour. She never gets up during night to go to the bathroom. We''ve had her urine tested and all came back clear. She also tested negative for diabetes. I''m unsure of what to do next, I''m really worried that this will bother her at school and socially. Do you think we need to take her to an urologist? If so, can you please recommend a paediatrician that specialises in urology? Thank you so much!

I agree that your daughter's symptoms are a cause for concern. Her symptoms suggest that she has a urinary system infection rather than diabetes. As her urine test has been negative it would indeed be a good idea for her to be seen by a paediatric renal expert or by a paediatric urologist. Please ask your paediatrician to refer her to an expert in your area ASAP.
