Q.

Daughter got spat in eyes by a snake

Good day,

My 2 years old daughter got spat in her eye by a snake on saturday. The doctors at Brits clinic flushed her eye out and gave her eye drops. She is doing well so far. Should I do any other test to make sure that the poision is completely out.

Destressed Mother, I need your help.

Regards
Vanessa

You do not mention what kind of snake. _The spitting cobra is very dangerous and the poison takes effect very rapidly. The clinic doctors seem have treated your daughter very well and she would not be doing well if they had not managed to get rid of the poison. I hope that she continues to do well.

It was a spitting Cobra. We were at Areoden Lodge for a weekend away. Just as we wanted to go outside, I opened the door and there is was...right infront of us. As I grabbed by daughter to pick her up, the snake striked. I took her to our hospital on Friday, to an eye specialist which confirmed that her right eye is blurry bt nothing to worry about. I thank God she is doing well, playing like normal. They prescribe other eye drops as the one she previous had was not good(this is what the eye specialist said).

How on earth did your daughter encounter a snake- I''m glad to hear she is doing well. This is also my biggest fear for my kids as well,as we have long grass at our house-we cut often but still
