Q.

dark/black gums &  lips

my baby boy is now 16 months old and since last week his lips and gums are turning dark or black. He has been having childish pinkish lips all along. Anything to worry about?

thank you

Paediatrician

This is usually due to teething especially when the molar teeth start coming through. The cause is some bruising of the gums caused by the teething. This should not cause your baby's lips to go black. I would be happier if you asked your paediatrician to see your baby about this colour change as his lips are also affected.
