dark rings under eyes

Mydaughter is 9 years old. The problem with heris that she does''nt have much of a appetite,is also not gaining much weight.
She is on Ritalin aswell duringweek.
I have noticed that she has dark rings under her eyes.
She is getting enough sleep and she goes to the loo regularly.
My husband thinks i should take her to have blood tests, but would like some input first as to what it may be and if blood tests are necessary

Dark rings under the eyes are usually a sign of either an allergy problem, especially nasal allergy, or can be due to anaemia. If it is due to anaemia, iron deficiency is the usual cause of this. It is a good idea to let your daughter have a blood test for possible anaemia and also a screening test for allergy such as a test called the 'phadiotop test'.If this test is positive further allergy tests may be required, but this should be decided by a paediatric allergist. Of course all of this depends on whether the test for allergy is positive or not.<br>Ritalin often affects children's appetites and weight gain and can also interfere with sleep. Your daughter sleeps well so that aspect is not a problem. Does she really still need to take Ritalin? This needs to be reviewed at least every year.
