Dark circles under eyes

My son is 2.5 and most days (but not every day) wakes up with dark circles under his eyes. He eats very well at creche, although doesn' t eat veg at home (refuses), but we know he eats fruit and veg every day at creche. He does suffer on and off with a stuffy nose, and he is currently teething his last top molars.

Should we be concerned about these circles? Could it be nutritian? Could it be sinuses?

It' s not something that is bothering him, so we haven' t taken him to the doctor - should we?

These dark rings under the eyes in children are called 'allergic shiners' and are usually due to an allergic cause, especially nasal allergy. As your son does have a stuffy nose it would be worthwhile having him seen by a paediatrician with an interest in paediatric allergy.

Hi there, I have dark rings as well, I' m anemic, low iron, but apparently our GP said that its all related to being prone to having allergies, hay fever and sinusitis etc.
This Paed is wonderful, I' m sure he can shed some light.
