Dark circles around your eyes

Hi doc, my daughter is now 3 years and 2 months, I breastfed until 2 years and 2 months, it''s been a while now that I noticed that she have dark circles around her eyes, is there something I have to worry about, or is it just an vitamin efficiency or something, please help, she rarely gets sick and this is bothering me. She also takes vitamins almost everyday, is it maybe something else that she needs. Thank you

These dark rings under the eyes can be absolutely normal and just occur in some families especially in girls in the family. However the rings can be a feature of allergy in some children and are known as 'allergic shiners' In other children the dark rings are a sign that the child is anaemic.Your daughter appears well so there is probably no need for any concern but it may be a good idea to have her blood tested just to make sure that she is not anaemic.
