Q.

Dandruff on a 2 year old.

Hi Doctor

My son is 2 years and 3 months old. I had him at a peadiatrician at the end of May regarding his scalp. He said that my son has dandruff and that I should get the Revlon Anti-dandruff shampoo that is safe for toddlers to use. I did however look for this shampoo, but could not find it. I bought Sebamed shampoo for my son, but this has not helped at all. Is there any other names of anti-dandruff shampoos that you could give me please???

Thank you

It is virtually unheard of for children of this age to develop dandruff. There must be another cause for his problem such as a possible fungal infection, a condition called seborrhoeic eczema or even due to nits. Please take him to be seen by a dermatologist.
