Croup again, so soon??

Hi Doc,
Just over a month ago I wrote you about my 11 month old having croup, after 1 week of meds, including aspelone, he took another full week to recover completely.
Since the weekend he''s had a runny nose and last night I detected the slightest croupiness, and this morning I defintely hear croup. His chest is tight as well.
I''ve been using saline for the nose and have had the humidifier on every night for the last month. I also gave him Rinex 1.25ml, morning and evening the last two days.
Why is this happening again so soon?
Should I give him the aspelone leftover? I am really so afraid of the effects of this for when he gets older.
Should I take him to the paed for alternate treatment?
Whta would be best to help him for now - bissolvin or ventolin?

It is very common for some young children to have recurrent episodes of croup, some quite close together. This is known as spasmodic croup. The best treatment for your baby son at this stage would be to nebulise him with Pulmicort twice daily for 2 to 3 days. Neither Bisolvon nor Ventolin help for treating croup. It will help to try to keep his nose clear by using a saline nasal spray or nose drops.Using a humidifier in his room should help as well.
