Babies usually only start crawling when they are about 10 months old. Also many babies skip the crawling stage completely and simply start to pull themselves up and then start walking. Babies do tend to fall over at times when they are sitting unsupported. There is usually no need for concern about this.

My eldest daughter didn''t really crawl until about just over 9 months - even when she was able to she wouldn''t really - she just would lie there kicking - she just wanted to get up and walk...only walked at 14 months though! We had sore backs from holding her hands walking her around all the time. She had no patience for crawling. Its fine, some babies crawl at 5 months, some never do!
