coughing and runny stomach

Hi Doctor,
my 8 month old has been coughing constantly for the last 3 days.
his cough actaully started 2 weeks ago, but he stopped and now it started again. He now also have a runny tummy, it doesnt go out the whole day, about once or twice a day. i dont know if his busy teething or what. I am using some meds for his runny stomach. Do you think i should go and see a doctor for his stomach.

And also a friend has told me about Septogard for the coughing and runny nose. Please advise if Septogard is ok to use for my 8 month old.

Waiting on your feedback
Thanking you in advance

Your baby's cough and loose stools are not due to teething. He has developed an infection, probably caused by a virus such as the well known RS virus. The RS virus usually causes a chest infection known as bronchiolitis. This illness usually lasts for about 10 days and most children recover without any treatment. As long as your baby is able too feed and sleep well all is well. If he is breathing rapidly or he is unable to feed or sleep you must take him to see your doctor. Keep his nose clear by using Salex nose drops twice daily. I do not have information on the safety of Septogard for a baby of 8 months.
