Q.

coughing a lot at night

Hi Doc
My son is two years old and he''s been coughing a lot at night while sleeping, this happens only at night and it sounds like he ha phlem in the chest. I have tried cough misture but its not helping. What could this be?

Your son probably had a cold or other virus infection recently which also affected his chest. Keep his nose clear by using Salex nose drops twice daily and give him Mucospect to help him to clear the mucous from his chest. It often takes as long as 3 weeks for this chest infection to clear up.

It could be post nasal drip.
Try some Allecet. Its an antihisthamine meant for long term use, so you give 5ml every night and over time it clears it up.
