Q.

Coughing

Hi Professor,

My one year old is coughing and has a runny nose. His temperature is 36.4 degrees Celcius. I am giving him Mucospect 2.5ml three times daily, as well as Calpol as he moans when he coughs, so I suspect his chest is sore. I am also giving him Chamiflor nose spray.

He eat and drank well this afternoon, only eating a bit of his oats porridge this morning, not the full bowl.

His tonsils do not seem swollen to me. When is the best time to take him to the Doctor? Is there anything else I can give him?

Thank you.

You are treating your baby's cold very well indeed and as he is eating well there is not need for concern. Also he does not have a fever. He should take about 10 days to get better.
