Q.

coughing

Hi Doc. My LO is 1 year old on Saturday. She had Koksaki virus last week and all the blisters are gone. She was also diagnosed with refluxs aat 6 weeks and have been using Losec eversince. We tried to stop it but the dr suggested that we use it till 14 months before stoping it. She suddenly started coughing (a wet cough) on Sunday. She was drinking the nr 2 Infacare milk and I' ve changed on friday to the nr 3 Infacare. I' ve also given her some mango on sunday and monday. Could the coughing be from the milk, mango or something else? I' ve given her some Bisolvin but it doesn' t seem to help. Is there something else I can give? For the last 2 nights se also threw up after her last bottle. She' ll start coughing and cries and when you pick her up she trows up. Could it be the reflluxs?

Your baby has certainly had a difficult time lately having just recovered from a Coxsackie virus infection. She seems to have developed another illness. Her symptoms are very suggestive of the start of whooping cough. There is a lot of whooping cough going around at present. Please take her to see your paediatrician and ask if this could be whooping cough.
