COUGH 5 MONTH OLD BABY

DEAR PROF
PLEASE ADVISE WHAT I CAN GIVE MY 5 MONTH OLD BABY FOR A COUGH
HE HAD BRONCHITIS BUT WAS GIVEN AN ANTIBIOTIC AND BEROTEC MEDICINE BUT HE IS STILL COUGHING

Your baby did not have bronchitis but he did have a viral caused illness called bronchiolitis. Antibiotics do not help for viruses and Berotec will only make him very active and rather jittery. This illness passes over by itself after a week to 10 days. We no longer recommend cough mixtures for babies and children under 2 years.

hi,
My baby is now 9months and the docter diagnoce her with bronchitis, he discripe her some antibiotics cough miture &  cortisone im not that fimuliar with cortisone espesialy at her age, but has been four days and she is still not better.She is very tired and dont even whant to play!When she cough it is very sore and she cries alot - please i am very woried about her i am not use to her like this!she is also theething at the same time, and it is very painfull for her, please can you advice me on how effective is the medisine - is this safe and some helpfull tips to make it a little bit more breathe-able for her.how long does it take to be cured - and how can i look out for sighs in future.
