I took my daughter (4yrs) to the Dr last week for coughing especially at night. She started creche this year. The Dr Prescribed Augemiting Antibiotic and she said her tonsils were swollen, throat and ears were very red and she was getting better after taking the medications but she has started coughing again...very stressed at the moment dont know what to do. Is there anything i can give her to stop this.

Your daughter is at a creche and at this time of the year it is not unusual for children to have coughs and colds. Most if not all of these coughs and colds are caused by viral infections and antibiotics will not help. Most infections last for 10 days to 3 weeks. The coughing is usually worse at night and most coughs are caused by children having post nasal drips. Keep your daughter's nose clear by using Sterimar nasal spray twice daily. Also give her Mucospect 5ml 3 times a day to help her to clear the mucous from her chest. She will benefit from being on Scotts Emulsion or Viral Guard to boost her immunity this winter.
