My Kid is 2, has a " touch"  of Asthma as diagnosed by our paedratician. He has been admitted twice in the past for bronchiolitis.

He picked up a cough few days ago. the GP says its a flu/cold, and prescribed antibiotics and alcohpylex. however the cough seems to be persistent and im worried that it will worsen and i will have to admit him again. the cough is not persistent during his sleep but he coughs plenty while he is awake trying to clear the mucus. its a phlegmy type cough (with clear mucus). He does not have fever, and it does not seem like a wheezing chest.

should i be worried? should i nebulise him or change the medication?

It sounds as if your little boy has whooping cough. There is a lot of this illness around this year. Your description of his cough seems to fit this diagnosis best. Please ask your doctor to see him gain. Alcophyllex will not help this kind of cough and may possibly cause some side effects such as restlessness and possibly some tummy discomfort for your son.
