Controlled Crying

My baby is almost 12 weeks old and is over her colic. I think that she doesn' t know how to fall asleep on her own because I rocked her all the time with the colic. Some days she goes without ANY sleep for 17 hours, even if you rock her. One would think that then she would at least sleep then, during the night, which isn' t the case. Sometimes she only falls asleep at 11h30pm, only to be awake again by 2h30am and then she refuses to go back to sleep after her feed!
For the past two days, I have been using the controlled crying method. In this time, she only woke up twice during the night for her feed. I also do this during the day, it' s very, very difficult but at least she sleeps now.
I' m just worried that I' m not doing the right thing? It feels so cruel.
She weighs 5.4 kg' s and weighed 3.24 kg' s at birth so she has gained the correct amount of weight.
Please help

Your baby's weight is indeed right for her age, but something must be worrying her to sleep so little at her age.She may simply be hungry and if she is being formula fed this may well be the cause. Try a formula for hungry babies such as Lactogen1 or Novalac for hungry babies. She is too young to be trying the controlled crying method.
