The most common cause of this contact rash in babies and young children is the use of hand washes especially those that contain an antiseptic such as Triclosan.Contact rashes are very difficult to treat in young children.Do not use any soaps of any kind on her hands.Just wipe her hands with a soft wet cloth.Apply Advantan Ointment once daily to her hands. It would be best to do this just before bedtime. If her rash is no better after 5 days she should be seen by a dermatologist.
