Constipation in a 1 month lod

My LB' s been on breast milk but always showed signs of persistent hunger even after a feed. After 2 weeks we added baby formula to his diet. Now he' s not passing stool, is crampy and groans a lot, and it' s been 5 days since he passed the last stool. We got syrup from a pharmacist but it' s only relieved cramping. We' ve also stopped feeding formula milk but he' s not getting a fill . Any advice?

Your baby shouldl get enough milk when you are breast feeding. You need to stop the formula as it is causing severe constipation. If you need a formula then NAN Pelargon will probaly be best for your baby. Use a single infant glycerine suppository to help your baby to pass the constipated stool.

You can use infant-size (1 gram) glkycerin suppositories, as and when required, virtually from birth.

The Glycerine Suppository for Infants is safe. My baby was 7 weeks when i used them and it was the Paed that prescribed.
You must just use 1 suppository only.

My baby is also constipated and trying to figure out what to do. She is 6 months old. Using laxette doesnt work, and doc put her on Isomil but that has made it really bad. so changing her formula again back to ST26. hope that helps. How old should they be before supositires NEW MOM?

Thanx New Mom. My LB is only a month old though. Do u think suppositories will be a gud idea for that age. I thought suppositories were for bigger children.
