Q.

Constipation/ ADHD.

my 6 year old daughter has still has a problem with visiting the loo. She is scared that the poo will be hard and painful and she just refuses to go.I followed te advice given previously to give her a stool softner like Duphalac - but this too has not helped because she now poo''s in her pants.She is also not concentrating on her schoolwork at school - her teacher has now advised that we have her assesed and i fear she has a psychological problem.Her sister is on medication for ADHD &  she is showing the same signs.Please help!

Your daughter's teacher is correct. It would be best to take your daughter to be seen by a child psychologist. Her problem is known as encopresis and usually has a psychological cause.
